a roadsign pointing to different paths for employment, jobs, independence, etc.The goal for every person with a developmental disability is a life that includes a good place to live, individualized integrated employment, and an individual lifestyle. There is a national body of evidence from multiple states that has documented strategies that are effective in achieving that goal. The mission of the federally designated Developmental Disabilities Network (Sherlock Center, RI Disability Law Center and the RI Developmental Disabilities Council) in each state is to disseminate that evidence in a way that stimulates discussion of policy and practice and increases the capacity of individuals, families, providers and advocates to implement effective practice.

A series of public forums and workshops are planned and scheduled over the next year beginning in February 2014 that are focused on promoting a comprehensive approach to transition and integrated employment.
